Updates From Zambia

On October 21st, Mary turned 14. This is Mary’s 2nd birthday to celebrate with WellSpring. Mary and the girls had a wonderful night of dancing, eating, and celebrating.

Annie is a resilient widow living in Kawama West, house E111, aged 42 years. After the loss of her husband in January 2020, she became the pillar of strength for her family. Annie is the proud mother of 7 children, each with their unique dreams and aspirations. Jennifer, 23 years old, has completed her school

Due to the severe drought impacting Zambia, our team had to identify an alternative water source. After careful consideration, we determined that the most effective solution would be to acquire a 5000-liter water tank and construct a temporary slab capable of safely supporting the filled tank.

Zambia is currently facing a significant challenge due to severe drought conditions, which have led to water scarcity at the girls’ house well.

​Continue to lift up the WellSpring team as they continue to disciple the children each Saturday morning during bible study.

The team and the children are greatly appreciative of the gift of Bibles they received. Each child in the house now has a Bible to reference during our Saturday Bible study sessions.

A few months ago we were able to purchase the property that will one day be home to 18 girls. The property is large and contains fruit trees a primitive 3 room house and a detached toilet and shower were already on the property. We decided not to destroy the house but to finish it properly as its core structure was sound.

WellSpring has recently been fortunate to receive several items for the house that significantly aid in streamlining daily chores. Currently, the girls utilize a manual well from which they draw water daily using a rope and bucket.

Today the girls of WellSpring, along with their special guest as Ward was onsite wrapping up his time with the mission team, celebrated Martha and her 17th birthday.

During the recent mission trip, the team was able to spend time with several of the families of the WellSpring children.
