Updates From Zambia

Farming Update

​Due to the recent poor rainfall in Zambia, the Wellspring team did not undertake significant maize or crop production at the farm. However, we are still utilizing the plot for smaller farming activities. With the help of James, our caretaker and administrative assistant, we managed to plant some maize. This activity supports the girls during their school break and provides them with valuable farming knowledge.

Christmas Is Coming…

​The girls are preparing to celebrate a special Christmas party on December 21st with the St. Raphael Orphanage. Our team has developed a good relationship with the leadership of that ministry, creating a strong “partnership” where we can share ideas and learn from the experiences each group has encountered. We are like-minded organizations, with very similar core focuses.

A Celebration Of Independence

​In Zambia, the 24th of October is commemorated as Independence Day. The WellSpring Team took the opportunity to celebrate this significant occasion. The team dedicated time to educate the girls about the concept of freedom, the celebration of independence and its importance. They also studied the seven presidents who have led Zambia to date, as well as their histories and tenures. This historical context is integral to the education curriculum for students in Zambia.
