In July 2022, during our very first days exploring the streets of Mufulira, we met a quiet young girl who would change everything. We weren’t even open yet — WellSpring was still setting up the home — but as we drove the streets to get acquainted with the community, we came upon a roadside vegetable stand. There stood Idah.

Today, our WellSpring family is celebrating a very special young lady — Mary Kaunda, who turned 15!

​Today was a day of joy and new beginnings at WellSpring Rescue Village. Our Saturday Bible studies have continued to grow week by week, drawing in more children from the neighborhoods surrounding our home.

​On September 3rd, our WellSpring family came together to celebrate a very special milestone — Martha officially turned 18! The morning began with a treat that made her day unforgettable: a shopping trip where Martha was able to pick out her very own new clothes.

On August 13th, our WellSpring family gathered for a very special celebration — Micha turned 12! The day was filled with joy from start to finish. The girls worked together to bake her birthday cake, filling the house with laughter, sweet smells, and a lot of love.

At WellSpring Rescue Village, we often talk about creating a global family, but sometimes, the most powerful connections are the ones that remind us of the families these girls already have. This week, we experienced one of those moments.
